Commissioning Technician

We are currently looking for a Commissioning Technician to join our team!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Participates in technical review meetings for conflict resolution in field.
  • Draft technical documents for issue resolution and best practices; write issue descriptions, meeting minutes, field reports, and final reports.
  • Collaborate with the scope team and Project Manager to verify scope intent and criteria; develop and also maintain collaborative relationships
  • Knowledgeable of conceptual power system commissioning, inspections, and testing for electrical components and systems.
  • Manages specifically assigned project deliverables related to commissioning.
  • Document the results of inspections and tests to identify any deficiencies.
  • Ensure the project meets quality standards.
  • Identifies and recommends work process improvements.
  • Understands Commissioning terminology and levels of Commissioning
  • Awareness of industry codes and standards
  • Proficient with technical writing
  • Basic power system familiarity with switchgear, switchboard, transformers, circuit breakers, power panels, test equipment, etc.
  • Good communication skills
  • Willing to travel to customer sites periodically

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; or 7 years of previous experience in commissioning.
  • Previous experience managing people
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and through writing in a professional, courteous and knowledgeable manner
  • Ability to prioritize tasks according to deadlines and urgency and complete them in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to comprehend, summarize, edit and analyze data
  • Ability to create, edit and analyze Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, PDF files and Power Point presentations
  • Ability to create, navigate, search and update Rogers Electric’s systems (work orders, reports, quotes, invoices, emails, etc.)
  • Previous people management/supervisory experience required
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and all related Cx tracking software (I.E. Cx Alloy, Procore, Etc.)
  • 6+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Excellent communication, organization, time-management and leadership skill
